The world of fantasy introduced people to elves and other ancient races, which have their own complex disposition, culture and traditions. Many literary works, films and role-playing games have captured the attention of contemporaries, so people tend to understand the names of their favorite characters, come up with meaningful game nicknames, and some even give euphonious elven names to their children. Elves are some of the most popular fantasy characters in the fantasy genre. Elves are one of the races that inhabited the fictional Earth, often called Middle-earth or Mediterranean in the distant past. Elves are known as beautiful creatures with mystical powers that humans can only imagine. They are known to be fast, graceful, and strong, although some are cunning and manipulative. In many fantasy stories involving elves, one encounters good elves who lead the goodies to victory. And there are evil elves who mislead and deceive the main characters during their journey. Elves in Tolkien's stories are brave warriors endowed with knowledge and wisdom. They are immortal, they die only as a result of severe injury or deep melancholy. Each Elvish name consists of a prefix (noun or adjective in Elvish) and one or more suffixes or endings. The Elven Name Generator has been designed to help simplify this task. It does not, of course, contain all the existing variants for a race as old and diverse as the elves, but on the other hand, this list can serve as a starting point for creating a large and consistent list of elven names.
