During the Age of Endless Frost, when the seas were frozen and travel through them became possible, an influx of foreign fauna occurred to the shores of Eorzea, followed by hunting tribes. The current descendants of those tribes are now known to us as Miqo'te. Since then, the Miqo'te have split into two distinct clans - the daytime Seekers of the Sun and the nighttime Keepers of the Moon. Both clans have an excellent sense of smell and strong legs, developed as a result of a long evolution associated with hunting and predatory lifestyle. Relatively few in number - they adhere to a closed group lifestyle and tend to avoid contact with other races. Many of them lead an isolated lifestyle, even if they live in densely populated cities.
Although their presence in the Eorzea region is small compared to other races, Miqo'te are easily distinguished by their large protruding ears and a restless cat's tail. Their ancestors first arrived in the region during the Age of Endless Frost in the Fifth Umbral Era, crossing frozen seas in search of wildlife to feed. The instinct to defend their territory has led many of them to a secluded lifestyle. Men, for example, are careful to make contact with others. The self-proclaimed Seekers of the Sun are a daytime clan of the Miqo'te race. Their love for a warm, bright day pervades all aspects of their culture, as does their obvious reverence for Azeyma the Warden, the sun goddess. Relatively few in Eorzea, some are incorporated into the daily life of other races in the port city of Limsa Lominsa. Others have chosen the Sagolii Desert region as their home.
