Eight races, each with its own sound

Choose a “Race”, and the generator builds names from syllables that fit it. Dwarves get hard sounds and family names of forges and stone, such as Disla Goldhelm or Gorathor Stormforge; halflings get cosy names, such as Nobby Littlewhistle; gnomes playful ones, such as Jebozle Sprocketwick; and orcs harsh ones, such as Murzgra Brokenskull. Humans and elves get names for the heroes of an invented world, such as Varion Starvale. Dragons and demons have a single name, such as Aurrivexa or Valorath. “All races” mixes them all.

Under “Gender” choose “Any”, “Male” or “Female”, and untick “With a family name” for first names only. Set “How many” up to 50 and click “Generate new” for the next names. Click a name to copy it, or copy or download the whole list. The names are invented, so they suit novels, tabletop role-playing games, video game characters, nicknames and the peoples of a map, and they are made in your browser. For names of one kind, see the elf, character and town name generators under the tool.
