What sentence case is

Sentence case is how ordinary text is written: each sentence starts with a capital letter and the other words are in small letters, apart from names. It's the usual style for paragraphs and, in many languages, for headings too. Converting to sentence case is the quickest way to fix a text typed in capitals or copied from a source where every word starts with a capital.

The converter puts a capital letter at the start of the text, after every full stop, question mark and exclamation mark, and at the start of every line, and changes all other letters to small ones. Abbreviations and brand names with capitals inside, such as NASA or iPhone, stay as they are, and a sentence typed entirely in capitals is converted completely. Names and other words that are always written with a capital letter, such as London or Anna, can't be recognized automatically: correct them by hand after the conversion.
