What is Word and what is PDF

Word documents, in both the older DOC format and the current DOCX, are made for editing, and they can look different on another computer or phone. A PDF looks exactly the same everywhere and can't be changed by accident, so it's the usual choice for CVs, contracts, invoices, reports and anything you want to print or publish.

Upload a DOC or DOCX file (ODT, RTF and TXT work too), and the converter turns it into a PDF on our server with LibreOffice, keeping the text, fonts, images, tables, headers and footers and page layout. If a document uses a font that isn't installed on the server, a similar font is used instead. Files up to 25 MB are accepted and are deleted from our server within 15 minutes. You don't need Microsoft Word, and there's no registration.
