Why convert PowerPoint to PDF

A presentation file needs PowerPoint or a compatible app to open, and the slides can look different on another computer when its fonts are missing. A PDF of the slides opens in any browser and on any phone, looks exactly as you designed it and can't be changed by accident. That makes it the usual way to share lecture slides, handouts, pitch decks and reports with people who only need to read them.

The conversion runs on our server with LibreOffice Impress. Each slide becomes one page of the PDF with its text, pictures, shapes, tables and charts. Animations and slide transitions can't be stored in a PDF, and embedded video and sound are left out. If a presentation uses a font that isn't installed on the server, a similar font is used instead. PPTX, PPT and ODP files up to 25 MB are accepted and are deleted from our server within 15 minutes.
