Sort Lines Alphabetically

This tool puts the lines of any text in order. Paste a list of names, words, tags or file names and choose how to sort it: alphabetically from A to Z or from Z to A, by the number in each line, from the shortest line to the longest, in reverse order or at random. Numbers inside the text are sorted naturally, so “Item 2” comes before “Item 10”, and letters with accents are sorted by the rules of your language.

While sorting, you can also ignore capital letters and remove duplicate and empty lines, so a messy list becomes a clean one in a single step. When sorting by number, both 1,000.5 and 1.000,5 are understood, and lines without a number go to the end. The random order is handy for draws, quizzes and playlists: every click on “Shuffle again” mixes the lines anew. Your text never leaves your browser.
