About the HTML tag remover

Paste HTML from a web page, an email template, a CMS or a document export, and this tool removes all the tags and leaves only the text a reader would see. It doesn't just delete everything between angle brackets: headings, paragraphs and list items become separate lines, list items get bullets, table cells are separated by tabs, HTML entities such as non-breaking spaces and © are turned back into normal characters, and the code of scripts and styles is removed completely.

If you want to keep the addresses of links, turn on the option and every link is followed by its address in brackets; the descriptions of images can be kept as well. Without paragraphs, the whole text is joined into one line. Your browser reads the HTML in a safe way: scripts don't run, images and other files aren't loaded, and nothing is sent to a server. This makes the tool handy for cleaning up copied content, preparing text for translation or counting the words of a web page.
